Inscribed in a later hand in pencil ‘1’ (circled) towards bottom right
Stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram bottom left
Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
The ink study is very slight and almost illegible. The inscription concerning the Notary Public was presumably transcribed from the sign under the double window of the foreground house in the view on the recto (D00108; Turner Bequest VII A) to which Turner’s other inscriptions refer.
There are grey colour trials, and pen trials at the lower left edge.
