Not mentioned in Finberg’s 1909 Turner Bequest catalogue
1 but subsequently given the pseudo-Turner Bequest number XIX 16a, this is the surviving stub of a page which had been largely torn out, with the tops of two pinnacles of Wrexham Church; the drawing, made with the page turned vertically, continues a little way onto folio 16 verso (
D41421). The rest of the drawing survives on a torn-out page (Tate
D00402; Turner Bequest XXIII b), which is kept separately (see also the sketchbook’s introduction).
