Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
This page contains two very rough sketches of mountainous views, probably the Alps. Turner has heavily annotated the sheet with inscriptions describing the colours and atmospheric properties of the landscape including notes concerning ‘Fog rising’ and ‘some Shadows darker than the Blue Sky Cloud warm’.
