This page contains four sketches of mountainous landscapes related to Turner’s return journey through Savoy in January 1820. The precise locations have not been conclusively identified although they are likely to be views seen from the road travelling westwards between Aiguebelle and Chambéry. Additionally, the artist has used the sheet for a couple of figure studies including a drawing of a woman wearing a ‘Blue and white’ cap and a dress with a ‘Green’ bodice and ‘W[hite]’ apron.
