This sketch is tentatively identified as a view of the River Po from the southern outskirts of Turin, probably near Moncalieri. Visible in the distance are the Alps and a small part of the line of the mountains spills over onto the opposite sheet of the double-page spread, see folio 22 verso (D14187; Turner Bequest CLXXIV 21a).
