This page contains a small sketch on the left-hand side of the sheet, parallel with the edge of the page. As Turner’s inscription indicates the subject of the drawing is a rough, schematic view of the Piazza San Carlo in Turin. The piazza is seen from the north with the ‘twin’ Churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo at the southern end. For a more detailed study see folio 32 (D14206; Turner Bequest CLXXIV 31).
