Whitfield Gill Fall is the second or ‘upper’ fall on Mill Gill, a little more than a mile north-west of Askrigg. This sketch records the falls as seen from the path approaching from Askrigg. On folio 4 verso opposite (D11449) Turner sketched a nearer view from the bed of the stream.
