Drawn while working through the sketchbook in the reverse direction to the numbered sequence, this is the left half of a double-page spread continued to the right on folio 293 verso opposite (D11893), recording the view from the bend about halfway up the Sutton Bank road (see notes to folios 295 recto and 294 verso; D11896, D11895), looking west and north-west to Gormire Lake in the middle distance just to the left of centre, and to Whitestone Cliff above right. The previous page spread in the sequence (from the back, folios 295 recto–294 verso; D11896–D11895) records the view south from exactly the same viewpoint and this continues the scan across the view to the right. There is a similar view in the sketchbook (from the back, folios 290 recto–289 verso; D11886–D11885).
For Sutton Bank see D11896.
