Turner Bequest CCXCIII 10a
Pencil on white wove paper, 190 x 113 mm

Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
This page contains three sketches:
i. (top, drawn with page turned upright) A street with a large church. Turner’s inscriptions seem to relate to this but are scarcely legible; the readings proposed here –‘[?]Cast West ’, [?]Dalu Don’ and ‘[?] Dailus Nature’ – are extremely doubtful.
ii. (centre) The south shore of Lake Geneva, looking east to the head of the lake.
iii. (bottom, squeezed in along the gutter, and inverted in relation to the other two subjects) Mountains and lake, probably the south shore of Lake Geneva, possibly from near Villeneuve, inscribed ‘Blue’ in the distance.
