This page contains four sketches, drawn with the page upright working down from the outer edge:
i. Lausanne from the west, from the tree-lined avenue of the Geneva road, crowded with figures.
ii. The same, slightly more distant, with figures resting on the bank in the foreground, ‘Vins’ (vines) to the left.
iii. The same, a more distant view still, with Lake Geneva visible to the right.
iv. The same, from a considerable distance, the entire head of the lake plainly visible to the right.
