These few quick lines indicate the Strada Romana Donnas, ‘Donnaz’ in Turner’s notation, looking up the Val d’Aosta.
This page was numbered as the recto by Finberg, although the opposite side (otherwise blank) was numbered in blue ink, possibly by John Ruskin, as the recto, and stamped with the Turner Bequest number accordingly. It has since been rebound, in its correct orientation, as folio 35 verso.
The other (recto) side is also inscribed with the Turner Bequest schedule number ‘357’ bottom right.
