Written from left to right down the page, and continued on folio 2 (D09060), opposite, Turner’s inscription reads:
Doth W Phipp continue on
To practice of his skill
A Blindness case requires him now
To act even more by knowing Howe
How asked the skillfull oculist
To practice, not desist
A blindness [requiring?] the fair
Requires all that you can spare
Her blindness case the shining fair
Required more than he could spare1
