Exeter is seen to the south from the vicinity of Pennsylvania Road, with St Sidwell’s Church towards the left and the low towers at the central crossing of Exeter Cathedral towards the right, with hills towards Newton Abbot on the horizon. This is a variation, perhaps from a slightly closer viewpoint, of the sketch on folio 65 verso opposite (D09755), under which the subject is discussed further.
