The ‘6’ and ‘4’ in the third line appear originally to have been the other way round, as each is written over an existing figure.
It is unclear whether these figures relate to the three drawn elements of what may be a ground plan or the detail of an elevation to the right (on a level with the ‘7 | 6’ below the main table), and an arched doorway and a narrow arched window with leading below. The window is similar to those in some of the gouache interior views of Farnley Hall, such as that showing the Oak Room (private collection);1 see under folio 74 verso (D09770). As discussed under the latter sketch, Walter Fawkes was making changes at Farnley around 1814, incorporating architectural features salvaged from other old houses on his Yorkshire estates.
