Drawn with the page turned horizontally, the topmast of the central ship, shown head-on, is continued a little way onto folio 8 verso opposite (D41532). The boats on right are reduced to rapid notations of their sails alone. For similar studies in this sketchbook, see under folio 8 recto (D10784).
