As Finberg’s title suggests, this slight drawing, inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, appears to show the arches of a bridge in the distance, perhaps with a sailing boat to the right. There are various identified and likely subjects along the River Thames in this sketchbook, as discussed in the Introduction, so this might be the Thames itself or in the vicinity.
Technical notes:
The soft surface of the page is heavily rubbed across the outer half.
