With the page turned horizontally, the view is from above Jennycliff Bay, looking north-west past the tower at Mount Batten to the Plymouth Citadel, with the tower of St Andrew’s Church and the spire of the Charles Church lightly indicated to the right. There is a view to the north-west from the bay on folio 59 recto (D09281). The subjects as far as folio 127 recto (D09358) are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles in and around Plymouth, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
Technical notes:
Irregular brown stains match those on folio 60 verso opposite (verso of D09282), but are slightly out of alignment, suggesting that the pages were not bound as they are now when the staining occurred. There are also some small black spots towards the right-hand edge.
