With the page turned horizontally, the viewpoint is Staddon Heights, south of Mount Batten, looking north-west, apparently from what is now the golf course. Mount Edgcumbe is on the left and the Stonehouse area of Plymouth to the right beyond Drake’s Island, with the Hamoaze in the distance. The hatching on the near side of various features suggests strong afternoon shadows. The subjects as far as folio 127 recto (D09358) are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles in and around Plymouth, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
Technical notes:
A large brown stain matches one on folio 62 verso opposite (verso of D09285).
Verso:
Blank. A further brown stain matches one folio 64 recto opposite (D09287).
