The sketches between folios 117 verso and 126 recto (D09344, D09356) were made around Antony, Cornwall, a village south of the St Germans or Lynher River west of the River Tamar and Plymouth. With the page turned horizontally, St James the Great’s Church is seen here from the south-east, with the river beyond. The tower is seen from a higher vantage point on folio 122 recto (D09351), and the church appears again on folio 123 recto (D09352). The subjects as far as folio 127 recto (D09358) are all identified or presumed sites within a few miles in and around Plymouth, suggesting a series of fairly short excursions.
Technical notes:
There is some staining at the left, matching that on folio 123 verso opposite (verso of D09352).
Verso:
Blank
