At the bottom right is a cluster of waterfront buildings including two tall chimneys, with a boat in the foreground apparently inscribed ‘w’ for white. The scene is probably on the River Thames near Hammersmith, like the views on adjacent pages. Above, drawn inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, is a wooded prospect, possibly along the banks of the Thames, with buildings or a bridge, possibly Old Putney Bridge in the distance on the left. The trees towards the gutter, again inverted, appear to be continued from the distant view of Hammersmith Bridge from the Barnes side on folio 64 verso opposite (D22446).
