Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the Five Arch Bridge is shown to the north-west across Virginia Water; designed by Sir Jeffry Wyattville (1766–1840), it was completed in 1827.1 It also appears on folio 81 recto (D22128; Turner Bequest CCXXXVIII 79).
This view continues across folio 87 verso opposite (D22140; CCXXXVIII 85a), where the Fishing Temple is shown, and again onto folio 85 verso (D22137; CCXXXVIII 83a).
