There are three main views here, made with the page turned vertically and separated by horizontal pencil lines, The top sketch is possibly of Odin Mine, below the east side of Mam Tor, about a mile north-west of Castleton up the Odin Sitch stream, apparently with a separate detail of the skyline to the right. There is a similar sketch, apparently inscribed ‘Odin’, on folio 38 verso (D22221); see also folio 22 verso (D22190). As Ian Warrell has noted, the prospect below the centre is of Peveril Castle from the west.1 Below is a profile of one of the nearby Peak District hills, continued very briefly on folio 47 verso opposite (D22238), with a note of the ‘Rd [i.e. Road] to Castl[...]’ in the valley below.
