At the top left, Turner has inscribed the following numbers and dates in pen and brown ink:

Across the centre of the page is the endorsement of the executors of the Turner Bequest, Henry Scott Trimmer, John Prescott Knight and Charles Lock Eastlake, in ink ‘No. 361 – | 66 leaves of sketches | in colour – | H S Trimmer’, and in pencil below to the left ‘JPK’ and ‘C.L.E.’.
There is a further pencil annotation by curator Arthur Magyer Hind, now rather faint against the brown wash:

This change was made at the time when many Turner Bequest sketchbooks were restored and rebound at the British Museum after the 1928 Tate Gallery flood. See the concordance in the Technical notes to the sketchbook’s Introduction.
