Drawn with the sketchbook turned upside down, Turner’s sketches depict a riverside scene in the Moselle Valley inscribed ‘Enkirch up [to] Trarbach’; a group of houses; and what appear to be similar houses with turrets and gabled roofs in a township below.
Technical notes:
Folio 32 is missing and has been replaced with a blank page inserted between the present folio and Tate D28412; Turner Bequest CCXC 31 a.
