Here Turner shows the village of Bornhofen, presided over by the ruins of the thirteenth-century Castles Liebenstein and Sterrenberg. A boat is seen in the foreground, along with the circular forms of numerous umbrellas held up by the passengers aboard the vessel. Turner has inscribed ‘Umbrellas of all [?Colours]’ beneath it.
