In the top half of the page, Turner has inscribed the following in pen and brown ink:

The figures presumably record the numbers and dates of changing of bank-notes.
Below this, to the left of centre, British Museum curator Arthur Magyer Hind has inscribed the following notes in pencil, concerning the rebinding of the sketchbook (see the T echnical notes to the Introduction): ‘Nos 93 & 94 placed after 18 | Nos 95 & 96 mounted | AMH’.
