This is possibly a view in the valley of the Tywi, taken from near Pistyll Dewi, looking north-east towards the runs of Dryslwyn Castle, with the remains of an Iron Age settlement on the hill beyond, behind which is the village of Llangathen. The subject is continued on folio 55 recto opposite (Tate D01551; Turner Bequest XL 53).
