Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the subject is continued on folio 18 recto opposite (D01710; Turner Bequest XLII 32). Turner made a larger study of the bridge in his contemporary Cyfarthfa sketchbook (Tate D01641; Turner Bequest XLI 12), and a copy drawing for a pupil using the same motif is Tate D00843 (Turner Bequest XXXI A).
