The main view is taken looking west towards Carfax, with All Saints’ and St Mary’s Churches; the college of All Souls is at the right. The studies of details above the main image include parts of the doorway of St Mary’s; see also Tate D08219 (Turner Bequest CXX F).

There is a smear of blue colour at the bottom left.
