This diminutive and slight sketch may depict the Flemish city of Ghent, with three of its celebrated ecclesiastical landmarks: St Bavo Cathedral, the medieval Belfry, and the Church of St Nicholas (see also Tate D19854; Turner Bequest CCXVI 150b).
