Drawn with the sketchbook turned upside down, here Turner has made a detailed study of part of Saint-Vulfran Collegiate Church in Abbeville, Picardy. The church was constructed in the late fifteenth century in the Flamboyant Gothic style.1 At bottom left is the top of an exterior pinnacle continued from the top of the leaf.
