Here Turner records two beached fishing boats on the Normandy coast, most probably at or near the port of Dieppe. The artist has also sketched two locals: a male figure at top left wearing a ‘Red Jacket’ and a woman at right wearing a smock with ‘D[ark] Green’ sleeves carrying a basket on her back.
