This sketch clearly depicts the quayside at Dieppe, with a bridge at left and the distinctive dome and tower of the city’s Eglise Saint-Jacques rising above the rooftops at right. Colour notes have been jotted down as initial capitals, with ‘W’ standing for white, for example.
