This roughly rendered sketch appears to show a coastal scene, with a possible harbour in the foreground. The arced lines above the view may represent a rainbow. Turner’s handling here is almost identical to a very slight sketch of Calais on folio 268 verso (Tate D20077; Turner Bequest CCXVI 268a). It may be that the artist depicts the same harbour in this sketch.
