Turner worked a small sketch of a dark interior into the top section of this page. Two sweeping strokes of the pencil at the centre of the scene suggest curtains hanging from a bedframe. Attention has been paid to the strong tonal effect of a door opening into this dark chamber on the left-hand edge of the drawing.
