With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled much of the left-hand side of this page with a drawing of large building, possibly ecclesiastical in nature. The sketch is too cursory in handling to identify a definitive location for this scene although this volume contains drawings of multiple large structures in Paris, the Île-de-France, and along the Marne River to the east of the city. Lists of these are included in the sketchbook Introduction for comparison.
