Made with the page turned horizontally, this slight chalk study is apparently part of the sequence using pencil and chalk that includes folios 2 recto, 3 recto, 4 recto and 8 recto (D03995–D03997, D04002); see also folio 127 recto (D04144; Turner Bequest LXIX 127).
Verso:
Blank; slight offset, possibly from folio 4 recto (D03997), suggesting that the pages were once bound consecutively.
