This rough sketch is perhaps not by Turner: although it has much in common with the slight drawing on folio 2 verso opposite (D02464), it is heavier in handling and less surely descriptive. The possibility that it is by a different hand is reinforced by the drawing on the verso (D02466), which seems to be a rather clumsy copy of a drawing in another sketchbook.
