Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the subject is continued on folio 90 recto opposite (D02594). This is perhaps a scene on the coast of the Firth of Forth near Musselburgh; see folios 40 verso–41 recto and 90 verso–91 recto (D02530–D02531, D02595–D02596).
