This rapid horizontal sketch was probably made from the same spot as that on folio 19 verso opposite (D02023). The artist has turned about forty degrees to his right, to take in the range of mountains west of Snowdon, dominated by Moel Eilio, the peak at the western extremity of the ridge. Llyn Dwythwch, the name of which he has noted in the drawing, is a small lake on the eastern flank of Moel Eilio. He made panoramas over two or more leaves on the following pages, folios 20 verso–21 recto, 22 recto, and 22 verso–23 recto (D02025–D02029).
