This is a more evolved version of the large colour sketch, Tate D03643 (Turner Bequest LXX a B); both appear to be based on a sketch in the contemporary Dolbadarn sketchbook (Tate D02151; Turner Bequest XLVI 106). See also a similar view in the 1798 Hereford Court sketchbook (Tate D01345; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 91).
