Here Turner has rendered views of the beaches and cliffs at Suffolk, as well as sketches of a town and its streets. The church depicted in the central sketches may be St Peter and St John’s, the parish church of Kirkley near Lowestoft (see Tate D18246; Turner Bequest CCIX 46).
