With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner’s executor filled the centre of this inside back cover with endorsements. In ink, Henry Scott Trimmer inscribed the page ‘No 385 ¦33 leaves of pencil sketches’ and left his signature. Charles Lock Eastlake and John Prescott Knight wrote their initials in pencil.
