Technical notes:
The white laid paper support bears the partial watermark ‘AN’. The page is speckled with small dark brown marks and stained by the glue used to fasten the crimson leather loops and corner details to the covers.
The upper right hand quadrant of the verso bears the counterproof of the drawing on folio 2 recto opposite (D27482; Turner Bequest CCLXXIXb 2).
