This view of buildings in a valley seen through trees continues across folio 37 verso opposite (D35821; Turner Bequest CCCLXIII 36); a church spire is seen in the present half of the drawing, which appears to show another aspect of the town shown on folios 38 verso–39 recto (D35824–D35825; Turner Bequest CCCLXIII 37a–38). Like the indentified views in this sketchbook, it is most likely in Kent; see the Introduction. See also folios 22 verso–23 recto (D35796, D35798; Turner Bequest CCCLXIII 21–22).
