Continuing on folio 11 recto opposite (D35507), there are two bands of slight notations apparently indicating cliffs, perhaps seen while under way in the Channel. See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight coastal views scattered through it.
Technical notes:
There are dark diagonal streaks of adventitious, sooty matter across the centre and to the right.
