This slight sketch appears to show cliffs on a Channel coast. It is unclear whether the source of smoke in the foreground is a small building or a steamer. There is a very slight continuation on folio 64 verso opposite (D35602). See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight coastal views scattered through it.
