Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Turner filled much of this pages with studies of boats at with their sails unfurled. The seaside sketches in this volume have been located to the regions around Dover, Folkestone, and Calais on each side of the English Channel.1 The bottommost study continued onto folio 14 recto opposite (D24131; Turner Bequest CCLVI 13).
