The small sketch of a cliff in the lower left-hand quadrant of a page is part of a larger coastal study which continues on to folio 13 verso opposite (D24130; Turner Bequest CCLVI 12a). The seaside sketches in this volume have been located to the regions around Dover, Folkestone, and Calais on each side of the English Channel.1
