The Turner scholar C.F. Bell annotated Finberg’s 1909 Inventory entry (‘Various buildings’): ‘Distant view of cupola of Duomo Milan’.1 This is a brief extension of the view from the Ponte del Trofeo near the Porta Ticinese on folio 9 recto opposite (D14340), here showing the Cupola of San Lorenzo2 to the north-north-east and the crossing spire of Milan Cathedral beyond to the north-east. Both are now obscured by trees and later developments from this angle.
See under folio 2 recto (D14328) for other Milan views.
